Three men in their 20s will appear at the Nasinu Magistrates Court today charged in connection with an alleged assault and robbery incident in Caubati earlier this week.
Police allege that on the afternoon of June 9, the three suspects hired the victim’s taxi from Laucala and asked to be taken to Caubati. Upon arrival, they allegedly assaulted the driver and stole his mobile phone and cash.
A task team from the Southern Division was deployed to investigate the matter. The three suspects, all Cunningham residents, were later arrested and charged with one count of aggravated robbery each.
Police confirmed that the victim’s mobile phone was recovered during the investigation.
The three are scheduled to be formally charged in court today.
