TNG Holdings Pte Limited has appealed the Department of Environment’s decision to reject its proposed waste management project at Vuda.
The matter was called before the Environment Tribunal this morning, presided over by Magistrate Charles Ratakele.
Counsel for the Department of Environment Pete Bauleka informed the tribunal that a response to the appeal had not yet been filed and sought time to submit the relevant documents.
Counsel for TNG, Feizal Haniff informed the court that they would first need to review the Department’s response and the appeal record before determining how the matter should proceed.
Haniff has filed the grounds of appeal.

The tribunal directed the Department of Environment to file its response and the appeal record by the 30th of July.
The matter has been adjourned to 13th August for mention and further directions.
Permanent Secretary for Environment Dr Sivendra Michael and Director of Environment Senimili Baleicakau were also present during the proceedings.
