Fiji Airways Mens and Womens team both finished in top eight at the HSBC 7s Series standings after the completion of the regular season.

The Men’s team finished in 6th place in the standings after ninth place finish in the Singapore 7s tournament while the women’s team also lied in sixth place after a top four finish in Singapore.

The top eight teams in each series now head to a winner-takes-all all “Grand Final” tournament in Madrid at the end of the month.

Fiji Airways Fijiana finished in sixth place this season and will now head to the Grand Final in Madrid.

Other teams qualified are New Zealand, Australia, France, USA, Canada, Ireland and Great Britain, as Japan, Brazil, South Africa and Spain head into the promotion and relegation competition.

The men’s Grand Final competition will involve Argentina, Ireland, New Zealand, Australia, France, Fiji, South Africa, and Great Britain, while the USA, Spain, Samoa and Canada will contest the promotion and relegation competition.

The Grand final in Madrid will be held from 31 May to 2 June.
