Trio to front court for alleged bank fraud

Three men will be produced at the Suva Magistrates Court today for allegedly defrauding a bank of over $140,000.

The first accused is a 55-year-old man who was employed as a senior manager of a bank is alleged to have conspired with the other two accused persons to defraud the bank by selling off eight vehicles privately, when it was supposed to be sold by way of trade ins with approved licensed motor vehicle dealers, as per the bank policy. This is believed to have transpired between 8 December, 2018 and 21 December, 2022.

All three accused persons are alleged to have benefitted from the sale of the eight vehicles worth $148,000.

All three have been charged with one count of theft and will be produced at the Suva Magistrates Court today.
