Youth and Sports Minister, Jese Saukuru, met with the Australian International Development and the Pacific Minister, Pat Conroy Fiji to reinforced their partnership in sports development through the Vuvale Partnership. 

The Ministers from both countries met at Namaka Public School early this month, expressing their gratitude for the enduring bilateral relationship. 

Saukuru thanked Australia for its ongoing support, noting how it has helped Fiji and other Pacific nations excel internationally in sports. 

Conroy lauded Fiji’s sporting achievements, announcing Australia’s support for over 50 Fijian athletes for the upcoming Olympics and acknowledging the success of Fiji’s rugby teams. 

Notable attendees included the Australian High Commissioner to Fiji Ewen McDonald, Youth and Sports Permanent Secretary Meli Nacuva, representatives from FASANOC and athletes bound for the Paris Olympics.
