The Water Authority of Fiji has confirmed that repair works on the DN 600 trunk main linking the Waila Water Treatment Plant to the Wainibuku Reservoir were completed yesterday.
WAF said the repaired section of the pipeline was successfully tested before the system was recharged and water inflow restored to the main Wainibuku Reservoir.
Restoration efforts then continued across other connected reservoirs and affected supply systems.
The authority also carried out flushing operations as water supply was gradually restored to customers overnight and into this morning.
Water carting trucks remained deployed to assist affected communities during the recovery process.
WAF acknowledged the patience and cooperation of customers while teams worked to safely restore normal water supply services.
