A 21-year old man has lost his life following an accident that occurred in Tavua on Friday afternoon, 2 August.
The man was driving along the Kings Road near Draunivi, Tavua, when the accident occurred.
It is alleged that he lost control of his vehicle whilst trying to overtake another car.
He was rushed to the Tavua Hospital where he was admitted, but passed away this morning.
Four people traveling with him have been treated.
The road death toll currently stands at 31 compared to 57 for the same period last year.
The Fiji Police Traffic Department is pleading with drivers to take the warnings on the dangers of speeding seriously.
