Boxing was once a beloved sport in Fiji, capturing the hearts and spirits of many. However, over time, its popularity waned. Recognizing the importance of reviving the art of boxing, the Fiji Government, through the Ministry of Youth and Sports, is eager to reinvigorate the boxing scene by working hand in hand with partners and stakeholders.

Last Friday (22.09.23) the Toe to Toe Boxing Promotions made a resounding statement by launching its highly anticipated bout.This exciting event features the clash of two incredible athletes; former International Boxing Organization World Champion, Mr. Renold Quinlan, and the formidable Mr. Robert Berridge.

Mark your calendars for the main event of the Toe to Toe Boxing Promotion, which is scheduled to take place on the 18th of November, 2023, at the prestigious Vodafone Arena. It promises to be a riveting spectacle that will reignite the passion for boxing in Fiji.

Mr. Quinlan, with familial ties to Kadavu, boasts an impressive career with 29 professional bouts around the globe since his debut in the ring 15 years ago. He has proven time and time again his skill and determination, claiming victories against worthy opponents. A monumental highlight of his career was his victorious international bout in Fiji back in 2013 against the esteemed Mr. Joseph Kwadjo, whom he defeated by unanimous decision.

Meanwhile, Mr. Berridge, known as “The Butcher” in his homeland of New Zealand, possesses a record of 30 wins, with 22 victories achieved by knockout. Accompanied by his courage and resilience, Mr. Berridge has faced setbacks with 10 losses with one draw.
