Netball Fiji will be hosting the National Academy Tournament next week at the FMF Gymnasium in Suva.
This tournament serves as an important selection platform for the Baby Pearls under 21 and wider squad, as they prepare for the Netball World Youth Cup Qualifier next year.
This event marks the conclusion of the 2023 National Academy training campaign.
Eight teams will be participating in the tournament, including two teams from Australia – the Victoria Institute of Sport and South Australia Institute of Sport.
The netball players in the National Academy will be divided into five teams.
There will also be a Fiji selection team comprising current Fiji Pearls squad members who are 21 and under.
Netball Fiji CEO Vivian Koster says that the main objective of the Academy Tournament is to identify the 21 and Under squad for the upcoming Netball World Youth Cup Qualifiers.
Netball Fiji from this tournament will select a 21 and under squad to prepare for the Netball World Youth Cup.
