In a bid to support their athletes’ participation at the Paris Olympics, the Vanuatu government has earmarked a substantial sum of 47.4 million vatu, equivalent to approximately USD $390,000.
According to a report by the Vanuatu Daily Post, Minister of Finance John Salong revealed the allocation as part of the ‘New Project Proposals’.
The funds are intended to cover various expenses essential for the athletes’ Olympic journey, encompassing travel arrangements, accommodation, access to training facilities, and acquisition of state-of-the-art equipment.
The announcement underscores the government’s commitment to bolstering Vanuatu’s presence on the global sporting stage, highlighting the importance of providing adequate support and resources for athletes to excel at international competitions such as the Paris Olympics.
