In Fiji:
Yesterday, 350.org Pacific Climate Warriors protested at the Parliament lawns in Canberra urging for a faster shift to renewable energy and an end to Australian fossil fuel extraction.
They expressed disappointment in the Australian government’s Future Gas strategy, feeling it doesn’t fulfill promises.
Joseph Sikulu, 350.org Pacific Managing Director, stressed the need for Australia to embrace renewables instead of continuing to rely on coal and gas.
The activists, representing various Pacific Island nations, showcased their demand for community-centered renewable energy through creative demonstrations.
