Rabuka thanks Shree Sanatan Dharam Pratinidhi Sabha for its contributions’ to national development

Today, Fiji’s Shree Sanatan Dharam Pratinidhi Sabha was recognized by Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka for its important contributions to the country’s growth.

During his visit to the Samabula headquarters of the largest Hindu religious organization, Hon. Rabuka was briefed about the organization’s operations and future objectives.

He addressed the management, saying, “I thank you for all that you do for the people of Fiji.”

“Many citizens of this wonderful country have benefited much from your philanthropic arm. It is great that you have transcended religious bounds. Thank you very much for your amazing help, Vinaka vakalevu.

The Prime Minister was briefed by Ms. Shayal Shikha, the executive director of the organization, that in addition to focusing on religion and culture, they are now implementing contemporary principles and practices to solve the social concerns facing the country.

In order to solve social maladies like drug misuse, unemployment, poverty, and other problems that are increasingly common in today’s society, Ms. Shikha stressed the importance of cooperation.

The Sanatan Dharam Pratinidhi Sabha of Fiji has 28 local branches, hundreds of temples and mandalis, a few primary and secondary schools, and technical colleges. Among other initiatives, the group has started prison visits, medical screenings, blood drives, food distributions, and mobile counseling.

Recently, the organization has helped the Ministry of Health and Medical Services at the CWM Hospital with the cremation of unclaimed dead.

According to PM Rabuka, the government is prepared to collaborate with the group in advancing the country’s goals.

The Prime Minister was accompanied by Mr. Parmesh Chand, Permanent Secretary for Civil Service, and Hon. Sashi Kiran, Assistant Minister for Women, Children, and Social Protection.
