Athletics Fiji’s long-distance coach, Bola Tafou, has urged athletes to commit to serious preparations if they want to represent Fiji in the upcoming Pacific Mini Games next year.
Tafou, known for coaching elite athletes like Pacific Sprint King Banuve Tabakaucoro, emphasised that time is running out and serious training must begin immediately.
According to Tafou, building an athlete to perform at the required level takes over a year, and athletes must act now if they want to improve their performance from the 2023 Pacific Games in the Solomon Islands.
Tafou has been working with young athletes through the Athletics Camp, which runs until January, offering them an opportunity to develop their skills.
He highlighted that the coaches are fully prepared and available to assist any athlete seeking guidance in their preparations.
The 2025 Pacific Mini Games will be held in Koror, Palau from 29th June to 9th July 2025.
