Iliavi Qalo, a farmer from Nubumakita Village in Ra Province, has harvested six tonnes of Tausala variety dalo last week.

His produce will be collected by Ben Trading Company Limited at a farmgate price of $3.50 per kilogram.

Qalo received support from the Agriculture and Waterways Ministry through its Outsourcing Programme, covering half the cost of land preparation.

He also benefited from an agro-inputs subsidy, enabling him to plant 10,000 Tausala and 5,000 Uronivoni dalo.

Senior Agriculture Officer for Ra, Isei Nabitu, is urging local farmers to utilise available ministry assistance and visit their agriculture offices to explore various support programs.
