The Fijian Government is closely monitoring the unfolding situation in the Middle East, particularly in Qatar and Israel, to ensure the safety and well-being of Fijian nationals in the region.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, through the Fiji Embassy in Abu Dhabi, which is accredited to Doha, Qatar, and the Permanent Mission of Fiji to the United Nations in New York, has maintained regular contact with Fijians residing in affected areas.

According to the Ministry, Fijian citizens in both Qatar and Israel remain safe, and the Government is offering continued assistance and real-time updates through its diplomatic missions.

In Abu Dhabi, embassy officials have proactively reached out to Fijians living in Qatar, reaffirming their support and preparedness to respond promptly to any emerging threats. The embassy is also liaising with foreign diplomatic corps, trusted international partners, and local authorities, receiving ongoing intelligence briefings as the situation develops.

Likewise, the Permanent Mission of Fiji to the United Nations is keeping a close watch on developments in Israel, ensuring nationals receive timely information and support.

Fijians have been advised to avoid conflict zones, remain vigilant, and reach out to diplomatic contacts for assistance or advice.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has activated a 24/7 Operations Cell in coordination with the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Fiji Embassy in Abu Dhabi, and the Permanent Mission in New York, to manage communications and emergencies involving Fijians abroad.

Families in Fiji concerned for their loved ones in the region are also being reassured that support systems are in place to assist as needed.
