The Commander of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) Naval Hospital Ship Ark Silk Road, Senior Captain Peng Guliang, paid a courtesy visit to the Deputy Commander of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF), Commodore Humphrey Tawake, at the RFMF Strategic Headquarters in Berkley Crescent, Suva.

On arrival, Senior Captain Peng was welcomed with a Quarter Guard by the RFMF Naval Division before holding formal talks with CDRE Tawake.

Commodore Tawake acknowledged the 50 years of bilateral relations between Fiji and China, noting how the partnership has strengthened ties between the RFMF and the PLA.

He also expressed appreciation for the PLA Naval Hospital Ship’s mission to Fiji, which has been providing free medical consultations and public health services to RFMF personnel and the wider community during its stay.
