Members of the Multinational Force and Observers (MFO) gathered to mark a significant occasion for the Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) during a medals and awards ceremony, followed by the official transfer of authority between FijiBatt 43 and FijiBatt 44 in the Sinai Peninsula.
Lieutenant Colonel Viliame Naisau officially assumed command as the new Contingent Commander of the Second Battalion Fiji Infantry Regiment – FijiBatt 44.
Joining him are Warrant Officer Class One Laitia Liloma, appointed as Regimental Sergeant Major, and Captain Reverend Josese Daveta, who will serve as Chaplain.
The ceremony paid tribute to the outgoing FijiBatt 43 team for their dedication, professionalism, and contribution to maintaining peace and stability under the MFO mission.
Their leadership and discipline were recognized as integral to the success of Fiji’s longstanding commitment to international peacekeeping efforts.
As FijiBatt 43 concludes its deployment, its members now prepare to return home, carrying with them the pride of service and the honor of representing Fiji on the global stage.
