Six Fijian football coaches will take part in the Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) A Licence Coaching Course, which begins tomorrow at the Fiji FA Academy in Ba.

The week-long programme, running from July 29 to August 4, will bring together 14 coaches from six Oceania member associations to enhance their technical, tactical and leadership capabilities under the guidance of experienced OFC coach educators.

Representing Fiji are Annabel Rao, Labasa FC head coach Alvin Chand, Fiji FA Head of Development West Dhirend Chand, Seaqaqa FC head coach Mohammed Imran, Labasa Women’s FC coach Roneel Ram and former Ba FC coach Shalen Lal.

They will be joined by coaches from the Cook Islands, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands and Tahiti.

The course will be led by OFC Lead Educator Andy Hedge, with Sean Douglas and Marika Rodu serving as assistant educators. Tracy Cunnington and Sarah Foune will oversee operations, while Benoit Milin and Patrick Kaniki will provide translation support.

Fiji FA Chief Executive Officer Mohammed Yusuf said hosting the programme highlights Fiji Football’s commitment to developing coaches and strengthening the local game. He said the course offers local coaches the opportunity to learn from leading coach educators while sharing knowledge with peers from across the Pacific.

The OFC A Licence is one of the confederation’s highest coaching qualifications and is designed to improve coaching standards and support player development throughout Oceania.
