For years, Inoke Ravuiwasa has quietly gone about his business, putting in the hard yards on rugby fields across Fiji and Australia, chasing a dream that many aspire to but few achieve. Today, that perseverance has paid off, with the experienced tighthead prop earning a coveted place in the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua squad for the 2027 Super Rugby Pacific season.
Born in Tavuki, Taveuni, with maternal links to Susui in Vanuabalavu, Lau, Ravuiwasa’s rugby journey has been built on dedication, resilience and patience. A stalwart of the Fiji Police rugby team and a consistent performer in provincial rugby, he has spent years proving himself in some of Fiji’s toughest competitions, most recently representing Suva in the Skipper Cup.
Along the way, Ravuiwasa represented the Fiji Under-20 side in 2016 alongside current Drua co-captains Temo Mayanavanua and Frank Lomani, before continuing to develop his craft through Fiji’s domestic rugby pathways. More recently, he pulled on the jersey for the Fijian Warriors against Australia Country in October 2025 and gained valuable experience with Australia’s Western Districts Lions during the 2026 season.
Now, the opportunity he has worked so hard for is finally here.
“I’ve been working towards making this team for a long time, so to finally get this opportunity means a lot to me,” Ravuiwasa said in a statement released by the club. He described the moment as a reward for years of sacrifice, perseverance and discipline, while expressing gratitude to the Drua management for believing in him.
His story serves as a powerful reminder that success does not always arrive quickly. Sometimes it takes years of persistence, setbacks and unwavering belief before a breakthrough comes. For aspiring rugby players across Fiji’s villages, schools, clubs and provincial teams, Ravuiwasa’s journey proves that hard work and consistency can open doors at the highest level.
Fijian Drua General Manager Rugby Baden Stephenson believes the prop’s experience and physicality will add valuable depth to the squad’s front row. More importantly, his signing reflects the Drua’s ongoing commitment to identifying and rewarding local talent.
As Ravuiwasa prepares to join the Drua Vuvale, he carries with him not only years of experience but also a story of determination that will inspire many. His path from the local rugby fields of Fiji and the ranks of the Fiji Police to the Super Rugby stage is a testament to what can be achieved through patience, persistence and an unrelenting belief in one’s dreams.
