The Public Rental Board is awaiting the outcome of an investigation into allegations of abuse of office involving its former General Manager, Timoci Naleba.

Housing Minister Maciu Nalumisa says the investigation has been completed by a committee, with the Ministry now waiting to receive the report before determining the next steps.

Speaking after the launch of PRB’s 2026–2030 Strategic Plan, Mr Nalumisa confirmed that Mr Naleba remains on administrative leave with pay.

“The committee has completed the investigation. So we’re just awaiting the outcome of this case before we can do it,” Mr Nalumisa said.

Asked whether there was a timeframe for the outcome, the Minister said the Ministry was waiting for the report to be compiled and formally submitted.

Mr Nalumisa did not provide a date for when the findings would be released or when a decision on the matter would be made.

PRB Chairperson Asenaca Nawaqalevu also said the Board was awaiting an update, referring questions about the investigation to the Ministry.

The investigation comes as PRB embarks on its 2026–2030 Strategic Plan, which outlines priorities including expanding affordable housing, improving tenant services and strengthening the Board’s financial sustainability.

The Board is also reviewing its operational procedures and seeking legislative changes to support its future housing development plans
