Fiji has recorded 57 tourism investment projects worth a combined $2.085 billion, highlighting continued interest in developing the country’s tourism industry.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation Viliame Gavoka revealed the figures in Parliament, based on Investment Fiji’s latest tourism investment project report.
The projects cover accommodation, cultural tourism and experience-based activities, with the potential to deliver a combined capacity of 5,613 rooms.
Of the 57 projects, 19 are already under construction, representing an investment of $322 million.
A further 26 projects, valued at $1.3 billion, are in the pre-development stage, while 12 projects worth $443 million remain at the conceptual stage.
Mr Gavoka said the Ministry continues to work closely with Investment Fiji to attract investors, support tourism development and collect industry data to guide informed policy decisions.
The investment pipeline is expected to create opportunities to broaden Fiji’s tourism offerings, strengthen economic activity and generate future employment and business opportunities across the country.
