The Great Council of Chiefs has clarified the intent behind its proposed visit to King Charles III in Great Britain, amid public discussion surrounding the matter.
GCC Chair, Ratu Viliame Seruvakula said the main purpose of the planned visit is to seek the King’s assistance regarding the Constitution that was handed to the vanua by Queen Elizabeth II and is now under the authority of the government.
Ratu Viliame stated the issue will be further discussed when the Great Council of Chiefs meets on the 5th of this month to deliberate on the proposed visit and its implications.
