The Labasa Airport terminal reconstruction project is expected to be completed by the end of June next year.
CEO of Fiji Airports Mesake Nawari confirmed this during their presentation on the Fiji Airports 2022 Annual Report to the Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Affairs and Defence.
He says they are currently exploring the possibility of acquiring additional land in Labasa to expand the airport’s facilities and accommodate more commercial and tourism-related services.
Nawari says this is quite a big investment which is costing them $18.6
He says apart from the plans that they have for a new airport in Savusavu, there are also plans to upgrade the current one.
The CEO also confirmed that the Labasa, Savusavu, Matei and Rotuma airports are now fully solar powered.
