Man charged with one count of sexual assault, case adjourned to July

The man alleged to have sexually assaulted his niece in Labasa was charged with one count of sexual assault and produced at the Labasa Magistrates Court on Friday.

On the 6 June , the accused who was staying with the victim’s family had entered the victim’s room she was sharing with her sister whilst they were sleeping and committed the alleged offence.

She then alerted her parents about the incident.

An interim Domestic Violence Restraining Order as been placed against the accused.

The accused has been bailed with the sum of $500 with strict bail conditions and the case adjourned to the 30 July for plea.
