New Zealand’s Prime Minister, Christopher Luxon, will visit Fiji from 5-7 June.

He will meet with Fiji’s President, Ratu Williame Katonivere and Prime Minister, Sitiveni Rabuka to discuss areas of cooperation which include economic sustainability, climate change and defense.

Mr Luxon stated that Fiji is one of New Zealand’s biggest trading partner amongst Pacific islands countries and there is plenty of scope to leverage even more economic opportunities for Kiwi and Fijian businesses.

Speaking on the significance of his visit to Fiji, he said, “Fiji is a critical partner for New Zealand.”

He added that “the partnership between” the “two countries is broader than most New Zealanders are aware of,” encompassing security cooperation, business ties and a shared love for rugby.

The New Zealand Prime Ministers visit to Fiji will mark strengthened collaboration between the two nations as they focus on trade, economy and various other bilateral, regional and multilateral priorities.
