Political Climate Champions from across the Pacific gathered in Nadi for a hybrid meeting aimed at strengthening regional coordination ahead of major global climate engagements.
The session provided an opportunity for leaders to review outcomes from COP30 in Belém and reinforce the region’s shared commitment to advancing a strong and fair global climate agenda.
Discussions also focused on preparations for the upcoming COP31, scheduled for November in Antalya.
Technical advisors from Pacific Small Island Developing States and the Alliance of Small Island States joined the meeting, contributing to conversations on how to amplify Pacific influence in international climate negotiations.
Participants explored strategies to enhance engagement throughout 2026, including planned Pre-COP meetings to be hosted in Fiji and Tuvalu ahead of the main conference.
The gathering highlighted a unified regional approach to tackling climate challenges and ensuring Pacific voices remain central on the global stage.
