Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka encouraged the 592 athletes who embarked for the Solomon Islands for the Pacific Games to maintain a high standard of training and discipline with the spirit of doing Fiji proud on the 17th edition of the Pacific Games.

As a former representative of Fiji in Athletics and 15s Rugby, Rabuka is aware of the sacrifices, challenges, and triumphs that come with the pursuit of excellence in sports.

He says, that behind every athlete stands a network of unwavering support from parents, families, and loved ones, who have been there during the grueling hours of training, offering encouragement and steadfast belief in their abilities.

The true measure of success lies not only in the competition results but in the countless hours of dedication and perseverance that each athlete has invested in.

After 18 months of preparation, Rabuka extends his sincere gratitude to the athletes’ families for their unwavering support letting the camaraderie and sportsmanship that define our nation shine through, fostering a sense of unity and pride among our athletes.

As a leader who once stood in the shoes of a Fiji representative, he understands the significance of this moment and he believes in their potential, dedication, and indomitable spirit.

With words of encouragement, Aim high, compete with honor, and, most importantly, savor every moment of this incredible journey, Rabuka is optimistic that, as a united Team Fiji, they will surpass the achievements of the 2019 Pacific Games in Samoa and make our nation proud.
