Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka is visiting Washington, D.C. this week to promote his vision of the Blue Pacific region as a “Ocean of Peace.”
He will attend the National Presidential Prayer Breakfast, where he will meet with members of Congress, leaders, and businesspeople.
Rabuka hopes that this vision will be endorsed at the Pacific Islands Forum Leaders Meeting in the Solomon Islands later this year.
He emphasizes that Pacific states share responsibility for promoting regional peace and cooperation.
Rabuka will meet with US Senators Ed Case, Mike Lee, and Kevin Kramer to address topics of mutual concern to Fiji and the Pacific.
He expects that the “Ocean of Peace” concept, which was launched at the UN General Assembly in 2023, will encourage peace and prosperity in the region.
