The Fijian Competition and Consumer Commission has reviewed taxi fares for Nadi International Airport, effective from 22 June.
Changes include lowering the flag fall charge from $7.10 to $5.00 per hire and increasing the drop charge from $0.10 to $0.15 per 100 meters.
The FCCC is targeting to make airport taxis more appealing for both locals and tourists, particularly for short trips, by reducing the initial rate.
This decision, part of FCCC’s commitment to fair and sustainable pricing, was made under the FCCC (Control of Fares and Charges for Public Service Vehicles) Order 2023 after thorough assessment and consultation with stakeholders.
Taxi service authorised fares and charges for all airport taxis in Fiji excluding Nadi International Airport Taxis will remain unchanged.
