Former Deputy Prime Minister Manoa Kamikamica has pleaded not guilty to charges of perjury and giving false information to a public servant.
He appeared before Magistrate Charles Ratakele this morning in the Suva Magistrates Court.
It is alleged that Kamikamica knowingly made a false statement under oath, claiming that he had nothing to do with the appointment of Barbara Malimali as the FICAC Commissioner.
It is alleged that Kamikamica provided the same false information to the Commissioner of Inquiry.
The court has set the trial date from the 20th to the 23rd of July this year.
FICAC will be calling four witnesses.
Kamikamica’s lawyer Wylie Clarke told the court that they will rely on one witness for defence.
The matter has been adjourned to the 22nd of June.
