The Order of Fiji and 50th Anniversary medals were presented by the President Ratu Wiliame Katonivere at the State House today.
The investiture ceremony also includes the recognition of senior civil servants, and seven permanent Fijian citizenship recipient.
President Ratu Wiliame Katonivere expresses his gratitude to the Medal Recipients, commending their dedication and commitment to advancing Fiji’s national interests.
“I acknowledged all the awardees here today, and I thank you to your commitment to our humble call from my office to be awarded today. To our servicemen recipients in the discipline force thank you for your service to the nation and to our contribution to global peace”, he said.
The Ceremony was honored in three categories. The Order of Fiji in General and Military Divisions, the 50th Anniversary Commemorative Medal, and the Civil Service Medals.
“Awards are an impactful tool. They drive us to achieve higher and and changes in ourselves and in the spheres that we operate. Your award must motivates you to positively influence others”, Katonivere said.
Seven individuals were awarded Certificate of Citizenship from the President.

“I personally congratulate each and everyone of you for gaining your Fiji residency united under our noble banner blue, a national symbol of solidarity”, the President said.
“The citizen provides a sense of belonging, and most importantly invoke a sense of inclusion in society”, he added.
The 50th Anniversary medals are part of the ongoing celebrations commemorating Fiji’s independence in 1970, recognizing those who have contributed significantly to the nation’s development over the decades.
