The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) Fiji has convened its first roundtable discussion on the legal implications of sea-level rise, bringing together regional and national stakeholders to examine legal strategies for protecting sovereignty and rights amid climate change.
The event featured insights from the International Law Commission (ILC) and aimed to enhance Fiji and the Pacific region’s legal preparedness in addressing the growing threat of rising sea levels.
This initiative, the first of its kind spearheaded by Fiji, has received support from the Embassy of the Republic of Latvia and the German Konrad Adenauer Foundation.
