Fiji One Limited has announced a landmark three-year agreement with World Rugby, securing exclusive broadcast rights to four of the sport’s most prestigious tournaments from 2025 to 2027.
The deal includes the Men’s Rugby World Cup 2027 in Australia, the Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025, the Pacific Nations Cup (2025–2027), and the World Rugby U20 Championship (2025–2027).
Under this agreement, Fiji One will serve as the Host Broadcaster and Exclusive Distributor for 15 Pacific Island markets, positioning the network as the central hub for rugby coverage across the region.
In Fiji, Fiji One will be the sole broadcaster with rights to air these tournaments, making coverage available exclusively on its Free-to-Air channel and digital platform, Na Lololo.
This ensures that all Fijians will have free access to the world’s biggest rugby events, including the highly anticipated 2027 Men’s Rugby World Cup, which is expected to be one of the largest sporting events ever held in the Pacific’s backyard.
This agreement forms a key pillar of Fiji One’s new digital and content strategy, reinforcing its position as a leader in premium sports broadcasting.
The broadcaster will deliver rugby coverage across multiple platforms – including Free-to-Air television, Direct-to-Home (DTH), and Over-the-Top (OTT) streaming – while also exploring opportunities to sub-license content to other broadcasters throughout the Pacific.
Fiji One CEO, Mr. Sanjeewa Perera, described the agreement as a proud moment for the company, its viewers, and the broader Pacific community. “Rugby is more than a sport – it is part of our identity and culture,” he said. “We are honoured to once again bring the Rugby World Cup and other key tournaments into Fijian homes and to serve as the regional host broadcaster for our Pacific neighbors.”
This agreement demonstrates our commitment to delivering premium content and reflects Fiji One’s ongoing transformation into a digital-first broadcaster.”
