Fiji’s first-ever trade exhibition in the United Kingdom was successfully held this week at the Lensbury Hotel in London, marking a new chapter in strengthening Fiji-UK trade relations.
The event was jointly hosted by the Fiji Government, the International Trade Centre (ITC), and the Fiji Rugby Union, with a special appearance by the Flying Fijians ahead of their match against England.
Fiji’s High Commissioner to the UK, His Excellency Jovilisi Suveinakama, said the exhibition highlighted the Fiji Government’s commitment to advancing trade as a key pillar of its foreign policy.
He extended Fiji’s appreciation to ITC for its financial assistance in supporting seven local Fijian companies to showcase their products; creating new opportunities for sustainable and inclusive trade growth.
Ambassador Suveinakama also acknowledged the Fiji Rugby Union for partnering in this initiative, which reflects Fiji’s growing use of sports diplomacy to elevate its trade presence on the global stage.
The exhibition further aligns with Fiji’s long-term goals of establishing a Chamber of Commerce, forming the Fiji-UK Trade Business Council, and eventually pursuing a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between the two nations.
