Fresh opportunities are beginning to break ground for landowners, as a new quarry project promises jobs, road materials, and new income for communities connected to the development.
The opening of the Matagali Laselase Quarry Site is being seen as more than just a business venture, with Minister for Public Works, Ro Filipe Tuisawau highlighting that the project could create long-term opportunities for landowners and nearby communities.
Tuisawau says the government is supporting the development through better road access, electricity supply, and partnerships between landowners and investors.
The quarry is also expected to support major road projects by supplying materials needed for construction work around the country.
Tuisawau says landowners are being encouraged to work closely with the Fiji Roads Authority and contractors as more developments continue.
