Two men have died following a road accident along Denarau Road in Nadi on Sunday morning, 17 May 2026.
Police said a 23-year-old man from Saru Back Road in Lautoka allegedly lost control of the vehicle he was driving, causing it to leave the roadway and strike a pedestrian.
The pedestrian, a 36-year-old resident of Noke Settlement, was reportedly walking along the roadside when the incident occurred.
Both men were rushed to Nadi Hospital but were pronounced dead on arrival.
A third victim, who was travelling as a passenger in the vehicle, was later transferred to Lautoka Aspen Hospital and is currently admitted in stable condition.
The national road death toll now stands at 19, compared to 21 recorded during the same period last year.
