The Ministry of Health and Medical Services has announced that the mortuary at Tavua Hospital will temporarily shut down to allow renovation works to be carried out.
The closure will begin on Monday, May 25 and continue until Friday, June 12, 2026.
During this period, families are being advised to take their deceased loved ones to the Ba Aspen Hospital or other nearby medical facilities that provide morgue services.
The Ministry has apologised to the public for any inconvenience caused while the upgrade works are underway.
