Fiji Rugby has unveiled the Vodafone Vanua Cup Eliminations, introducing a new promotion pathway that will see two provincial sides secure places in the 2026 Skipper Cup competition.
Speaking during the launch, Fiji Rugby Chairman John Sanday said the tournament highlights the strength of Fiji’s provincial rugby structure and creates opportunities for emerging players to showcase their talent on a bigger stage.
The new elimination series will, for the first time, allow leading Vanua teams to compete for advancement into Fiji’s premier provincial rugby competition.
The contest will be divided into two conferences. In the Viti Levu Zone, teams will compete in a single knockout match this weekend, while the Vanua Levu Zone will feature a three-round round-robin format designed to test consistency and resilience.
Once both conferences conclude, the top-ranked side from Viti Levu will meet the leading team from Vanua Levu, with both teams earning promotion to the 2026 Skipper Cup.
