A restaurant operating in Ba Town has been shut down after failing to comply with requirements outlined in an Abatement Notice issued under the Food Safety Act 2003.

Health inspectors, working alongside the Ministry of Health, issued a Closure Order against the business following non-compliance with food safety regulations.

Authorities have advised the restaurant owner to obtain and submit a Liquid Trade Waste Permit from the Water Authority of Fiji before further action can be considered.

Officials are also reminding all food businesses operating without the necessary approvals to ensure they meet legal requirements.

This includes obtaining a valid health licence, ensuring grease traps comply with Water Authority of Fiji standards and submitting the required Liquid Trade Waste Permit for grease trap systems.

The enforcement action forms part of ongoing efforts to ensure food establishments meet public health and environmental standards.
