From the village courts of Suvavou to co-captaining the Suva Blues Men’s Team, Timoci “Jimmy” Sulua continues to make steady strides in Fiji volleyball.
The Redline Volleyball Club player began his volleyball journey in 2014, inspired by fellow Suvavou representatives Alipate Wikilifi and Serevi Vananalagi.
Starting out as a libero before transitioning to setter, Sulua’s dedication saw him earn selection to the Suva Whites team in 2021 before progressing to the senior Suva Blues side.
Among his career highlights are helping Redline Volleyball Club win the Interclub Championship and being part of the Suva team that claimed the Vulaca Championship this year.
Sulua credits volleyball for teaching him discipline, teamwork, and leadership, qualities that have helped him earn the role of co-captain of the Suva Blues.
Looking ahead, the Kadavu native remains focused on achieving his ultimate goal of representing Fiji on the international stage.
“My long-term plan is to continue training hard and hopefully earn selection into the Fiji national squad,” Sulua said.
