The Republic of Fiji Navy is celebrating its 51st anniversary by carrying out a coastal clean-up in Suva, highlighting its commitment to both national security and environmental protection.

To support the campaign, Minister for Environment and Climate Change Lynda Tabuya presented clean-up materials, including sacks, gloves and hand sanitisers, on behalf of the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change.

The clean-up will take place along the Suva foreshore, covering the area from the Suva Bowling Club, along the Nasese seawall, to Suva Point Park.

Tabuya praised the Navy for setting a positive example, saying the initiative goes beyond removing litter and reflects responsibility, community pride and respect for Fiji’s environment.

The Ministry also acknowledged the Fiji Navy’s continued contribution to protecting the country’s marine environment and extended its best wishes as it celebrates its 51st anniversary.
