The Hibiscus Festival is proving to be a profitable opportunity for local businesses, with Fragrance Gallery recording strong sales as thousands of people make their way through Suva during the week-long celebration.
The perfume retailer said it is meeting its daily sales target of $1,000, driven by increased customer traffic and growing interest in its range of pure perfumes.
Shop attendant Marika Latabua explained that business has picked up significantly since the festival began, with the increased number of people in the city providing a valuable opportunity to attract new and returning customers.
The perfumes, sourced all the way from Cairo, Egypt, have been among the fast-moving products at the stall this year, with customers showing strong interest in the variety of fragrances on offer.
Latabua said the festival has provided Fragrance Gallery with an important platform to increase its sales while promoting its products to a wider market.
For the business, the strong performance during the Hibiscus Festival highlights how major events can create opportunities for retailers to boost revenue, reach new customers and strengthen their presence in the local market.
