Vuvuzelas will be prohibited at Govind Park’s Four R Stadium during this year’s Extra Battle of the Giants, as the Fiji Football Association maintains its tournament-wide restriction on the noisy instruments.

Fiji FA chief executive officer Mohammed Yusuf says the decision is intended to ensure a comfortable match-day experience for all spectators, particularly senior citizens.

Yusuf says the association has consistently enforced the vuvuzela ban at its tournaments and will continue doing so during the 2026 Extra BOG.

He says traditional instruments such as taasa and udha will still be permitted, provided supporters use them responsibly and remain considerate of other spectators.

The Fiji FA is encouraging fans to attend in large numbers, wear their district colours and create a lively atmosphere while respecting those around them.

Supporters are being reminded that vuvuzelas will not be allowed through the stadium entry gates.

The 2026 Extra Battle of the Giants begins on September 4, with pool matches running until September 6. The semi-finals will be played on September 12, followed by the final on September 13.
