Fiji Association of Sports and National Olympic Committee (FASANOC) President Cathy Wong has been appointed to the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) Foundation Board, strengthening Oceania’s voice in one of global sport’s most influential governance bodies.

Wong joins the Board as a representative of the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC), following her appointment by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). Her three-year term began on 29 May 2026 and will run through to 28 May 2029.

Her appointment means Oceania now has two senior sporting leaders on the WADA Foundation Board, with Oceania National Olympic Committees (ONOC) President and IOC Member Baklai Temengil already serving as an IOC representative.

The dual representation is seen as a significant boost for the region, ensuring Pacific perspectives continue to shape international discussions on clean sport, athlete welfare, integrity, and good governance.

The WADA Foundation Board is the agency’s highest decision-making body, bringing together representatives from both the Olympic Movement and public authorities.

A long-serving sports administrator, Wong currently serves as President of FASANOC, is a member of the ONOC Executive Board, and chairs the ONOC Games Committee.

ONOC President Baklai Temengil congratulated Wong on her appointment, describing it as an important achievement for both Fiji and the wider Oceania Olympic family.

WADA formally welcomed Wong to the Board in June and said it looked forward to working with her in advancing and protecting clean sport globally.

Wong is expected to attend her first annual WADA Foundation Board meeting in Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain, on 26 November 2026.

Her appointment further highlights the growing influence of Pacific sports leaders on the international stage and strengthens Oceania’s representation across key global sporting institutions.
