The 2026 Fiji Pro has placed Fiji’s world-class surfing conditions and tourism offering in the international spotlight following a highly competitive World Surf League Championship Tour event at Cloudbreak.

The event concluded yesterday with Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka joining the closing celebrations and awards ceremony at the Fiji Marriott Resort Momi Bay.

Canada’s Erin Brooks claimed the women’s title, while American Cole Houshmand secured the men’s championship after defeating Brazilian surfing star Gabriel Medina.

The Fiji Pro provided an international platform to showcase Cloudbreak while also highlighting Fiji’s hospitality and potential as a premier global tourism destination.

Rabuka congratulated the winners and said the event had demonstrated the value of combining international sporting competitions with tourism promotion.

He also acknowledged the contribution of the World Surf League, Tourism Fiji, Fiji Marriott Resort Momi Bay, Fiji Surfing Association, sponsors, athletes and the host communities of Momi and Nabila.

Their combined efforts, he said, helped deliver a successful event and further strengthen Fiji’s profile as a destination capable of hosting major international sporting competitions.
