In Fiji:
A total of 69 kilometers of primary drain has been cleared in the Western division, says Minister for Waterways Vatimi Rayalu.
While speaking in Parliament Rayalu says a total of 295 farmers have been assisted through this development.
Meanwhile, a total of 380 kilometers of drain are awaiting completion, and once finished, it will benefit more than a thousand farmers.
He says, the Drainage for Farmland Areas programme is progressing around the country, with another 600 kilometers of primary drain in both the Northern and the Central divisions to be completed soon.
