Community Policing officers based in the Southern Division conducted a one-day empowerment workshop to help improve their ability in strengthening connections between the police and the community. 

The workshop covered various topics. Topics ranged from current policing issues and there was presentations from different units like the Planning Unit, Narcotics Bureau and Sexual Offense Unit. The Divisional Crime Prevention Committee Coordinator, Josefa Mataika, also provided some insight.

Acting Divisional Police Commander South Acting Senior Superintendent of Police Ilaitia Caginavanua stressed and highlighted the importance of community involvement and trust-building. 

He was optimism that the workshop, despite being short in duration, provided valuable insights for improvement.
