The Fiji Muslim League has awarded five scholarships to students for Islamic studies at Darul Uloom Zakaria, Johannesburg in South Africa.
The five recipients of the scholarship were Abdullah Rahim, Mohammed Shazil Shizaz, Abdur Rahmaan Bin Ashad, Muhammad Muawia Bin Ashad and Huzaifa Ramzan.
They were handed over their air tickets and five-hundred dollars in cash by the National President of the League, Haji Basheer Ahmed after Iftar on 9 April 2024 at the Samabula Jame Masjid.
Accompanying these students will be Zoheb Alfaz Ali of Lautoka who is a final year student in South Africa undertaking Islamic studies at Darul Uloom Qadria.
The Fiji Muslim League also paid his ticket and handed him five-hundred dollars in cash for his travel.
