Local Government and Housing Minister Maciu Katamotu Nalumisa recently visited Govind Park, where reconstruction efforts are ongoing since the severe damage caused by Tropical Cyclone Winston in February of 2016.
The first phase, which began on 22 January, 2018, focused on rebuilding the Pavilion at a cost of $4.91 million.
As of 18 Jan, 55% of the Pavilion building works are complete, whilst 48% of the civil works for the turf have been finished.
The project is on track for completion by the end of April 2025.
