Former Post Fiji Chief Executive Anirudha Bansod has been sentenced to one year and six months imprisonment.
Magistrate Yogesh Prasad handed down the sentence this afternoon in the Suva Magistrates Court.
Bansod was initially charged with one count of abuse of office and one count of general dishonesty causing a loss.
He later pleaded guilty after his charges were amended to only one count of abuse of office.
It was alleged that between August 1 and December 31, 2022, while being employed in the civil service as the CEO of Post Fiji Ltd, Bansod provided false confidentiality and Conflict of interest Declaration for the tender of the design, development, and implementation of the Post Fiji Mobile Application.
